GW6 Tabernas Stainless Steel Waterless Urinal Trough Available In 3 Lengths: 1200mm, 1500mm & 1800mm

The GW6 Tabernas waterless urinal trough uses the same GW6 valve core as the popular GW6 cartridge and are manufactured to order in the UK.  They are one piece units made from grade 304 austenitic stainless steel, 1.2mm thick, with a smooth satin polished non-reflective surface.

The urinals are supplied with combination ends suitable for either exposed or side-wall applications. Each urinal comes fitted with the GW6 housing and valve, as well as stainless steel fixing screws.
Key Benefits:
  • unique dual valve technology for added protection against odours
  • small, replaceable GW6 valve core typically lasts for 6 months, often as long as a year
  • no special tools required for maintenance
  • high drainage rate - approximately 30 litres per minute, so can be sluiced
  • waste pipe connection can be horizontal (e.g. through panel) or vertical
The GW6 cartridge uses a silicone double-skirt valve which is tolerant of both water and common cleaning chemicals. Click here for more about the GW6.

Cleaning
The GW6 waterless urinal system is tolerant of standard cleaning chemicals but care should be taken with stainless steel products. Only mild products should be used. For best results, we recommend Bactericidal Cleaner for stainless steel urinals. The surface of the urinal needs to be wiped down regularly to maintain cleanliness.

How to avoid blockages in waste pipes
Whilst the waste pipes of waterless urinals block less frequently than for most flushed urinals, uric acid salts can still form a sludge which eventually could cause a blockage. Sludge can be a particular problem if the waste pipes are shared with sinks or are poorly configured.  Gentworks recommends periodic sluicing with Bactericidal Cleaner to break down this sludge and carry it away into the main drain. The GW6 valve can be sluiced regularly; once every 2 to 4 weeks is recommended.  The solution used should be approximately 1 part Bactericidal Cleaner to 9 parts warm water from the washroom hot tap. Sluicing volume should be approximately 2 litres for the Tabernas models.
